Motorcycle appraisal

Most people are like Cliff Clavin from the old TV show “Cheers.” You may not be an expert on everything, but you do know something about most subjects. Unless your specialty is motorcycles, you may not have all the information you need in purchasing or selling a motorcycle. Don't be afraid to ask an expert when appraising a purchase or sale.
Currently, many of the insurance companies are now requiring approved independent appraisals so as to provide documentation of the value for a particular motorcycle. In fact, the point has been reached where custom built or bikes that have been heavily modified and/or fitted with major accessory packages are needing an appraisal to even get an insurance policy opened.
There are many online options for appraisal and you might also be able to find someone locally who will offer services. Your best bet is to ask around and find out what other motorcycle owners have done, then get several appraisals to compare. Don't feel rushed or pressured to accept the first appraisal you get.
